Privacy policy

Coffee is made by Hayden Ritchie ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Coffee app and the optional Coffee account, and what we don't.
The short version
- Coffee runs on your computer. Your chats, tasks, notes, files, API keys and AI sign-ins stay there. We never receive them.
- There is no tracking or analytics in Coffee.
- The Coffee account is optional and off until you turn it on. It holds only your email address and your plan.
- Stripe handles payments. We never see your card number.
- We don't sell your data or use it for ads.
What stays on your computer
Everything you do in Coffee is saved in Coffee's folder on your computer: conversations with agents, meetings, tasks, goals, memory notes, files you attach, spending records, settings, API keys and the sign-ins for AI tools. We don't have a copy and can't see it.
AI providers you connect
When you connect an agent (for example Claude, ChatGPT/Codex, Gemini, Grok, GitHub Copilot or Muse), Coffee sends your messages from your computer directly to that provider, using your own account or API key. That provider's privacy policy and terms apply to what you send. We don't see or store that traffic. The same goes for connectors you turn on, like GitHub.
The Coffee account (optional)
If you turn on "Use a Coffee account", we store:
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes and identify your account.
- Sign-in records kept by our sign-in service, such as when you signed in and the IP address and device used, for security.
- Your plan: whether you have Coffee Pro, its price, status and renewal or end date, and the Stripe customer and subscription IDs that link your account to your payments.
While the switch is off, the Coffee app doesn't contact our account service at all.
Payments
Coffee Pro is paid through Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are handled under Stripe's privacy policy. We receive only what we need to run your plan (the IDs and status above) and Stripe's normal records of each payment.
Emails
We send sign-in codes, and may send messages about your plan (like a failed payment or a price change). We don't send marketing emails.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase (servers in the United States) stores Coffee accounts and plans, and runs sign-in.
- Stripe processes payments.
- AgentMail sends sign-in emails and receives mail sent to support@usecoffee.app.
- Netlify hosts this website.
They only use your information to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and plan while you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days. Payment records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it.
Your choices
You can use Coffee without an account. You can sign out or turn the account off at any time in Coffee's Subscription tab. To see, correct or delete your account information, email support@usecoffee.app.
Children
Coffee isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For important changes we'll email account holders.
